If you are a web/graphic designer and develop websites, or you own a design studio, of course you know how important it is to have your personal portfolio that is well designed, unique, artistic, visually attractive and functional. It is your “face” as a designer and the proof of your developing skills.

Since it is not easy to stand out from the plenty of competitors, your portfolio should be remarkable. Today many designers prefer Flash for presenting their works and attracting customers, as it allows to implement many creative ideas as for galleries, navigation, and visual effects. As for me, it is a very good choice, but in case if your Flash website is functionally correct.

In this post you will not find any Flash website that loads slowly or has a prehistoric long loading intro. All the selected Flash websites are created by professionals: they are perfect examples of excellent craftsmanship of talented and skilled developers. Such Flash website solutions break the stereotypes regarding Flash low functionality. And it cannot help making me, as well as other Flash fans, happy.

You probably already seen Mcbess’ pieces around, but I believe that his style is so unique and astonishing that we can never get tired of it, so I decided to gather a list with some of his work to show here. For those who are not familiar with him, Mcbess, or Matthieu Bessudo, is a very talented French illustrator living in London that has a pretty strong character driven style which produces really eye catching compositions. His black and white universe is filled with interesting exaggerated characters and unique retro expressions. Mcbess compositions are a mix of ‘old school’ cartoon, rock’n’roll, retro and modern elements… he is able to fuse all that to deliver great compositions, as you will be able to see here.

The first thing that comes into our mind when we hear about a company or see their advertisements is their logo. The amount of simplicity, yet creativity instilled into such logos makes them withstand the test of times. The more distinctive a logo is, the more recognizable it becomes. The more complex a logo is, however, the less likely it will be that people will remember it. Designing a logo is not an easy job. It needs inspiration and creativity beyond everyday thinking to create phenomenal logos. One of the many ways to add a distinct feel to a logo is by giving it depth. By adding the right gradients and the perfect colours, depths can be added to your logos. This will make the logo look as if they are cast in a 3 dimensional space.
