In our design world, mock up means template… but there’s a little bit of difference. Mock up is used to display something. For instance, if you are designing graphics for an iPhone/iPad app and you’d wanna check how would your designs look on an iPhone… what would you do?
You’ll download a mock up of an iPhone and place your designs in it to check how’d they look.
You can also use mock ups as templates, but they are not designed for that so you might have a little trouble using them. But then again, as a famous designer once said: “reality is what there is, imagination is what there can be“. So you designers can figure out a way of using mock ups as Photoshop templates when you need them.
By the way, the famous designer I just mentioned… that’s me. 😉
I mentioned iPhone mockup above, this is the one I was talking about.
This one is in 3D.
If we have iPhone, how can we forget PSD for iPad.
A specification for 4S. I got 4S. Pretty cool design. (just talking about the design).
You must be thinking that the whole post is about iPhone. It’s not, this is the last one.
Here’s a T-shirt mock up. You can write anything here.
Okay, just one more iPad.
And iMac as well. We haven’t covered iMac yet.
This is a brochure template and mock up at the same time.
You can place any visiting card design on it to check how cool it looks.
This is a catalogue or magazine layout.
Soda can design. You can place anything your own on this.
And a Mackbook.
I’m thinking I’ll make a tutorial of this design in a few weeks.
Another visiting card mock up.
