AD

I have gathered a list of some amazing sites which you can use to create your websites in minutes and for free, with easy to use Free online website builders or what we call website makers.

Thank you for writing this. It gave me a quick overview of some really nice sites. I am personally creating a website with Wix. Since I’m starting from scratch instead of using one of their templates, it is taking a lot longer than I would like, but that’s only because of me. Their websites are really nice and professional with the use of Flash and high-quality graphics. You have full control over everything. It’s great.

I think these are great resources for secondary websites and websites used to promote your primary domain. I would never use one of these free sources for ones primary web presence. I wrote an article on my blog if anyone is interested in this topic.

I just wanted to let everyone know about Viviti.com. Basically it is a Content Management System and Website Builder that allows you to easily build your own website, either by selecting one of our premade themes or make your own theme simply by using html and css. Easy to use and very flexible.

I find wix to be extremely slow and irritating. I have tried all of the sites above and definitely like webs. 🙂 Nice collection, though.

  16. Rick March 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm

I tried to use WebNG.com. But I kept having problems with the login process, for my free website. But I had no problems with the free webhosting part. They do not seem to connect for some reason. You are forced to change your original domain name, between them both.

  17. EK April 5, 2011 at 8:54 am

I am confused; some people say wix is the most popular and some say its very slow, I want advice from expert on which site I should start creating my first website.

  23. Jerry June 22, 2011 at 5:08 pm

Great post. I’ve tried a few of those including Webstarts, Weebly, and Yola and they all work really well. One I would like to add that I found out about the other day is Circlepad. It’s a super easy web builder and very similar to Homstead. The only downside is that the free version doesn’t allow HTML code to be embedded into it unless you opt for a paid account.

    1. Tayyab June 23, 2011 at 4:56 am

      @Jerry

Thanks for pointing out the drawback as well.

  24. Jerry June 23, 2011 at 7:57 pm

No worries I should mention something about Webstarts that just happened to me. Their servers crashed today and have been down the entire day everyone who has a website with them free or paid can’t access anything. They claim no information was lost but I’m starting to wonder about that.

This also isn’t the first time this has happened this is the second time this week, the first time was for about 45 minutes. Anyone who’s thinking of using this service might want to do some more shopping around. I’m not saying their bad or that you can’t build a good website with them, but this is a big problem they need to fix.

  25. tita July 3, 2011 at 5:23 am

    thank you, it’s so helpful.

I have already paid for my domain and host company and have a current website build by a web site guy years ago, can you recommend the best on line site builder I can use with my current domain and host company. I have heard yahoo and google both have one but no one has recommended them? Any help or recommendations you have would be great I have no experience but want to do my own website

    1. Tayyab September 3, 2011 at 11:24 am

      Hello Mary

This is a big question actually, let me answer the first half initially. Yahoo stopped that service, it was called geocities.com. Google still carrying on with that service but that is specific only for corporate type clients and they create collaborative portals, I don’t think that’s what you need.
I have made a post about online builders and I have also stated their goods and bads. So you can visit Robust Free Online Website Builders for information on the same topic.

i checked yola …i am an upcoming artist and i want to built my free website.i just want to clarify that is it really free?or do i hve to ay ?like i checked with google they give you free space for 1 year but my aprehension is that google is asking for pan card no…are these websites safe?

    1. Tayyab November 25, 2011 at 6:24 am

      Good question @Jazz

All these are FREE. They won’t ask you for credit card and stuff, but of course with a free package you won’t get a Top Level Domain i.e. yourname.com
You’ll get something like this: yourname.yola.com

Although we don’t have a free version (yet), definitely also take a look at Breezi (just launched). In a nutshell, Breezi is a website editor with ultra fine controls. You can easily create, style, and add content to get your website just the way you’d like, down to the pixel level. We made Breezi for creatives who are picky about design aesthetics, but don’t want to learn coding to see their ideas come to fruition.

You can sign up for a 30-day trial here (breezi.com), check it out and see what you think!

    Hi,
I have created websites not only from the above mentioned websites;however I have created the websites from other companies as well. They also offer free websites and they have a huge collection of beautiful designs as it said in that article and after visiting I really found that website pretty interesting I terms of user friendliness and the designs. The collection of the designs that Webstarttoday has it’s really amazing and it’s free for an year. It’s amazing. Must try once.
