    I used to like the All in SEO plug in while the Platinum version just seemed completely over the top. Google is quite on the ball these days and does not need as many pointers as it did in the old days. Just bought Genesis for my new blog with SEO plug in built in so will see how that goes. If not will be adding All in SEO probably.

    Where is the Yoast seo plugin?

  3. Clive at Blog Briefing . com January 21, 2011 at 1:52 pm

    My 2011 resolution is to focus on my best blogs and discard the rest. I’ve been, at the same time, picking my favorite plugins so that every important blog of mine has the same plugins and SEO structure. Makes sense right? But ‘duh!’ this was not always the case.

    Consequently I am very interested in the plugin: Greg’s …SEO as it’s a new one on me and reads like it could be v.cool indeed. I have recently moved from AllInOneSEO plugin to Platinum SEO ditto but all being well it looks like this might supersede both.

    Thanks for posting this in January before I got to ‘stuck in’ to my resolutions 🙂

    Holy cow, this is a great list. We have been using Platinum SEO for a long time, I’m going to have my work cut out for me testing some of these others.

    I Actually thought this is just would go like a routine post.

    Currently using “All in one” but I am not to happy with it. I will be testing some of these on your list.. also might try the Yoast plug.

    Thanks for the list!

    Would you rocomend all in one seo over yoast’s seo anyone?

  9. website specialists January 22, 2011 at 11:14 pm

    This is a good read for all beginners of wordpress. Thank you for sharing and keep on blogging.

    @broadbeach gold coast
    Don’t get emotional with Yoast, I also love it.
    There are a few reasons which made me not to choose Yoast plugin in this post. Yoast is a bit too popular and might not be something new. I also needed something for the sequel of this post as well 🙂

    Great list. But how about OnlyWire? I think it is quite useful

  12. anto January 23, 2011 at 8:42 am

    Currently using “All in one” … waiting for something better.. thanks for you post!

  13. Lucian January 23, 2011 at 12:44 pm

    I can see that you posted All in one SEO on top of your list. I’m also using it on all of my blogs despite most people considering it not that good, but that’s probably because of his popularity and everyone compares another plugin to All in one SEO.

    I still have a tip: by default All in one SEO is configured to set noindex for tag and category pages. If you show only summaries on the front/tag/category pages there is no point in adding no-index to tag and categories pages.

  14. Tayyab January 25, 2011 at 12:07 pm

    Thanks for the Tip, appreciate it.

    @Reklama internete
    Since OnlyWire is basically a Social Media plugin, rather than a routine code based SEO, this was not mentioned here. I will definitely name it when I’ll make a post about SEO via Social Media.

    Readers! OnlyWire.com is a pretty handy tool for submitting your content to 30 famous Social Media networks.

    I was bit surprised not to the SEO plugin from Yoast on your list, is excellent SEO plugin, but of course not so easy to configure like All in one SEO or Platinum SEO. I did not know the plugin “SEO smart links” and the “Super Tags” so I will definitely test them to see what then can bring. Does the Super tag allow you to enter description to the tags?

    One of my person favourite plugin is TS custom widget, is quite good to use for SEO purposes also.
