Don’t know why horror is taking over me. But scary graphics certainly look cool…
Today I’m making a photo manipulation where a ghost is playing music, the guitar and the speakers are on fire. And he is playing it in a deserted graveyard.
I’m not really sure if such graphics are commercially valuable much, but they certainly work great if you trying to show off.

Update: The background image has been deleted from the source. But you can use any image that has dark sky with clouds on it. Here’s an example.
Resources Used in This Tutorial:
This is what we are making. Click the image to enlarge.
First of all open background image and adjust the Levels. You can do this by Stiking the CTRL+L. Use the following values.
Now I placed our ghost with guitar over our adjusted background. (I had to remove the background of the ghost image first. I just used Magic Wand Tool, so nothing special there, you can do it easily.)
Our ghost has a guitar, but no speaks… that’s stupid. I’m added a speaker set. Desaturated them, you can do this by striking CTRL+SHIFT+U. Then adjust the Levels and set these values.
Now its time to make the image more scary… spooky… I’m adding silhouette tree brush and painting a tree on the right edge using solid black colour.
Duplicate the tree on the other side.
How can a scary image be completed without skulls. Here I’m adding skulls, and transforming them into various sizes (only marginal size changes) and directions. Our goal is to make a realistic looking cluster of skulls. Spooookey..!
Our skulls need some toning, they are not blending in well. Go to Image >Adjustment>Hue/Saturation.
After that, make another color adjustment in Image >Adjustment>Color Balance. Use the following values.
Now set the levels. Strike CTRL+L for adjusting the Levels.
Once the skulls were properly toned, I duplicated them to make it a bigger pile.
Our image has become pretty cool but it doesn’t look like a graveyard yet. So I’m adding elements of a deserted graveyard.
I’m starting by adding a Cross. I rotated it a little, that adds spooks…
Now I’m adding some more elements that should make the image look like a graveyard.
A skull is hanging from the guitar now.
And a graveyard door. After adding this door, you’ll have to adjust its levels.
And now, in the end I’ve added image of many graves in the background. Again you’ll have to adjust levels.
This is the last step. Here I added the fire in my scene and set the Layer Style to the Screen.
Speakers on Fire. (this happens every time I sing).
And of course, the guitar.
