This is a tutorial to create a simple shiny metallic typography effect we usually see on hoardings and print advertisements published on art glazed paper.
This is a routine effect which I have stylized and created a modernistic style of typography. Designers can use it with almost anything which has a dark background, it doesn’t work on light backgrounds. Enjoy!
We’ll start by opening a blank file.
Then Fill it with the Grey color then Go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise.
Now don’t take notice of the screenshot, it would be noisy.
Go to Blur>Motion Blur.
Here I added the Text. I used the Big Noodle Titling font . You can Find it here
Now its an effect after effect. first I’m going to add the layer style of Drop Shadow and adjust the values.
Here I’m adding the Bevel and Emboss Effect to the text.
This is what we got in the end.
Now duplicate the Text Layer and move it up about 2-3 pixels.
Duplicate this layer again and remove all layer styles. Then give the following layer style.
Time for a Drop Shadow.
Time for Gradients
Give the following gradient on the text.
This is what we have made so far.
Now duplicate the text layer again and remove all its formatting.
Then rasterize this text layer then Go to Filter>Add Noise.
Now go to Blur>Motion Blur.
Then go to Select>Modify>Contract. When done with contraction, Press CTRL+Shift+I then strike DELETE.
Then Select the Ellipse Tool and make a thin-tall ellipse. Then Go to Blur>Motion Blur and use the values in the screenshot. Duplicate this circle by pressing CTRL+J and Rotate it by pressing CTRL+T and make addition (plus) sign.
In the center where the two circles meet, make a brush stroke using a soft brush.
place it appropriately to create the sparkle effect.
Last step is to go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effect.
Then Adjust this Values
