How to Design Delicious Social Bookmarking Icon

In this tutorial we will make a delicious Logo/Bookmarking icon in a very very simple way. All you need is photoshop. I have made it as simple as i could just follow the same instructions and you are good to go, You can make changes as u like. ok lets start.

Take a new document of 600 x 600px and draw a Rounded Edged Square with shape tool of 20px radius, and fill it with white color.

See Image Below.

Now right click on the shape layer and select Blending Options. We will perform a little styling on the round edged shape we made.

Inner Shadow:

Follow the exact Same Settings

Bevel & Emboss:

Lets make the forground a bit shiny and bulgy.

Stroke:

Now for a little outline to make it look good. Color Selected for outline is light grey #e3e3e3.

Here is the Result So far:

Now we need to divide this block in two four equal parts and for that we will be using Adobe Photoshop Rulers. To turn the rulers own u can Hold Ctrl and Press R ( ctrl + R ) or you can go to view menu and click Rulers. To divide the block into four equal parts i suggest using the Smart Guides. To enable that go to View > Show > Smart Guides.

Here is how it should look:

Now Take a new layer and select Marquee tool from the toolbox or by hitting the key M. Draw a full square in the lower left half of partitions we did in the block, and fill it with black color. Be sure to click the new layer before filling. You can fill color by using the bucket tool or alt/ctrl + Backspace depending on the color position. Now drag and place the new layer on top of the shape layer (block layer) and right click on the color layer and click clipping mask. Here is how it will look:

Now on the same layer make a square selection of the top right area of block and fill it with blue color. i used this color : #0c08bc. Make sure when u apply color the same layer is selected which you clipped with the shape layer on which u applied the black color.

Now you Delicious Icon is ready but we can add some more effects in it so it will look better. for that take a new layer and take the Eliptical Marquee tool from the tool bar and draw a circle in the center of the block and fill it with black color. Here is how it will look :

Now Deselect the circle selection by pressing Ctrl + D. Go to Filter Menu > Blur > Box Blur and set the Radius to 66. See Below

And now the Final Step .. Chnage the Opacity of this layer with Blur Circle to 12% to make this effect transparent. Thats It

Final Result:

You can resize it to any size you want. the smaller it will be the better it will look .
