Creating/maintaining a website is not “development”. Developing is actual coding (not scripting or playing with fonts/graphics). Title is misleading. I was looking for development tools… not website maintenance tools.

I’ve tried applications that emulate different browsers before, but they never worked completely correctly. Maybe one of these apps will do the job right.

I agree. This is not about tools for Developers. It is about tools for website designers. Developers write programs.

bmn, I’m a developer and I find most the above tools useful.. I’m pretty sure you’re confusing [web] developer with programmer. Both are different things but both have a overlap.

Also scripting comes under development. It’s development, either development by html, css, javascript, fonts, images, what ever makes a site. Like when you develop a building.

I’m not a web designer but I need to convert PSD files into web sites and for that I need to know how it’ll look in different browsers, how the fonts will work and if needed choose another colour if the designer forgot to design me an element.

My opinion of a web designer is someone who designs the site just in PSD and gives the developer that file to cut up and make into a website. Most the time (not all the time) most designers don’t know HTML/CSS. If they do then they’re a bit of a developer themselves.
