How amazing this is that more digital paintings are created every day around the world than real paintings made in a year. Okay, I just made this fact up, but it has to be true don’t you think? I mean you don’t need any stuff to make a painting on computer, no tools, no accessories, not even paint!
And how amazing it is that paintings have been around for over 7000 thousand years… but digital painting technique wasn’t even invented when we were born. How has the world changed, really.
Anyhow, let’s get back to today’s post. This is a collection of some of the really cool digital paintings I found while browsing through the internet.
These paintings are the ones that show our own life in a different way. Some are abstract, some are, perhaps, too blunt but I didn’t select them based on their theme but based on the quality of the artwork. It’s a mixed collection.
Mixed Digital Artwork Paintings
Most of the artworks here are linked to their creator’s page. If a particular artwork is not linked that means that we are not sure about its creator. If you happen to know the creator of any of these artworks, please do inform us using the comments section below.
It’s a whole project comprising some of the most detailed photo-realistic art I have ever seen.
This artwork “pays tribute” to the greatest sports controversies of our time. Let me describe all four incidents. Let’s begin from left:
- Diego Maradona, one of the greatest footballers of all time took captained his Argentine team world cup final in 1986. There, he hit a goal with supposedly his hands but the referees allowed it. Argentina won the cup. Later, answering a question, he said one of the most famous lines of football: “it was the hand of God“.
- John McEnroe, one of the most tantrum-prone sports stars ever had more than one outbursts on not just opponents but referees as well. Check some of his famous tantrums here.
- Shane Warne, one of the biggest of modern masters in the game of Cricket has also been of the most controversial figures. His list of controversies includes verbal abuse, bookmaking, making obscene gestures, sexual indiscretions and a one year ban for using steroids.
- Zinedine Zidane, the mellow footballer from France was the least likely person to be involved in outburst, but that’s what makes his controversy LEGEN – wait for it – DARY!
The final of the world cup 2006 was going crunch. Already in extra-time, tied 1-1 both teams desperate. Italy, Zidane’s opponents perhaps got too desperate and started abusing too much. In the 109th minute of the match, Zidane decided he has had it and, this is how he ended his amazing career, headbutted Italy’s Marco MaMaterazzi, received a red card and got out of the game. Italy Won.
This artwork is so detailed, so detailed that I spent a good five minutes just spotting the details.
I love the way this artist made hair. It takes a lot of time to paint hair like this.
She was the villain named Sedusa in the cartoon series Powerpuff Girls.
This is a pretty nice graphic involving loads of typography.
This bear looks freighting, stupid and cute in equal portions.
I know this poster was designed before it, but this guy looks a lot like Psy of Gangnam style… right?
This is Hollywood grade 3D work.
There is not a single picture in this, it’s all 3D.
Even though this seems like a regular 3D poster, I loved it because it includes so much elements. More the amount of elements is, the difficult it gets to sum them up in a design.
Another one with pretty cool typography.
This is a pure-vector artwork.
We don’t find many minimalist themed digital paintings, but this one is a rare example.
It includes retro styled film grain but it is a digital painting.
I’m not so sure why I added this piece. I mean it’s not that detailed and it’s not that wowing as well… but just something about it that I can’t explain attracted me so much.
The tears, my Lord the tears.
Water color painting made in computer.
That’s it guys. See you tomorrow.
